2024 New Zealand National Boccia Championships

Overview

The 2024 New Zealand Boccia Championships is a national sanctioned event open to boccia athletes across New Zealand in which players can compete and earn national ranking points and titles. The individual competition will run as a round robin progressing to a finals format. Individual grades will depend on the number of entries and some grades may need to be combined. National rankings will be used to determine the seeding positions. Players who do not have a current ranking will randomly be placed into a pool. The teams and pairs competition will be determined by the number of entries. 

Competition Dates:

Wednesday 2nd October, 2024 (from 2:30pm) - Classification as required**

Thursday 3rd October, 2024 (9:00am - 5:00pm)* - Teams and Pairs pool play

Friday 4th October, 2024 (9:00am - 5:00pm)* - Teams and Pairs finals plus Individuals pool play

Saturday 5th October, 2024 (9:00am – 5:00pm)* - Individuals pool play

Sunday 6th October, 2024 (9:00am – 4:00pm)* - Individuals finals

Please note all athletes require a national classification to compete.

This involves completing a Medical Diagnostic Form prior to the competition which is assessed by a classification panel, and undergoing national classification prior to competition.

Please note the Medical Diagnostic Form does include a part which must be completed by a medical doctor.

This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of a skilful Paralympic sport!

We require enthusiastic volunteers to assist in various roles. Free training will be provided beforehand so you can assist with timekeeping and scoring.
